Treating Mood Disorders

Treating Mood Disorders using Wellness JournalsThis site is dedicated to treating mood disorders with the use of Wellness Journals.   Mood disorders include but are not limited to depression, dysthymia, unipolar depression, bipolar depression, and borderline personality disorder.   Wellness Journals contain tools which allow individuals with mental illness to proactively help themselves.   It helps those with disabilities achieve independence and self reliance.    This site is geared towards PSR or psychosocial rehabilitation workers and counselors, however can be used by anyone who suffers from a mood disorder, or has family members who suffer from depression.

I encourage anyone who uses wellness journals in treating either their client’s mood disorder, or their own to contact me so that we can include examples from your journals on this website.

The answers by yeye and efx shulod help so I wont go into it to far as there onto it. There is one proses that I would like to add and that is the proses of thought. First of we get the thought, second we wrap the thought with emotion, then if we can get over our emotions our mind can move into seek and search, and then we can take action either say something or do something, and then we have created knowledge or knowing and that’s the 5 step proses of healthy thought. We can get stuck in a loop of think and emote and this is were we can become anxious . We also have Primary and secondary emotions like needs and wants they are two different emotions you may need a operation but I bet you don’t really want one. So learn to take control of your thoughts and don’t get caught in emotion it can stop us from seeing the clear picture. I hope this helps in understand how our mind works through understanding and acceptance we can move forward.

Yup, the whole picture, and it’s not relaly the booze, alcohol it just the great truth detector, and reserved people will put their inhibitions to bed (so to speak) when they’ve had a few. But I digress. Again, you’re right, it is the whole picture, but in the spirit of the topic, I’m gonna try give some specifics on the main thread. And I haven’t even had one drink.

Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old dagthuer and said You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear. She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!

          • sakuraandme says:

Oh no! That’s so awful, yet here I am laughing!
I would have screamed sooo loud! Those things are creepy and have BIG claws! *laughing* Poor girl! traumatized for life because of a crazy crab.BTW: I always go off the subject! Lol ……Paula x

So thankful to have found this site. I am a PSR worker and my case load does not contain a single person without a mood disorder. I am so excited to help my clients create wellness journals as I know it will lead to greater insight. I am also excited about sharing this site with my fellow PSR’s. Looking forward to reading the eBook. Thanks again!
